Caribbean, here I come

Well, not for awhile, anyway. I meant to post this earlier in the week, but trial was a little more hectic than I thought it would be, and I literally did not have 5 minutes to sit down and do this.

Dad invited all of us to go on a cruise with him this coming winter, and after this week, I could sure use it! Dad loves to cruise, and thinks this is a good time for all of us to go on one. And what better way to accept his invitation than with a card?! He had given me this palm tree stamp (non-SU!) for Christmas, and this is it's maiden voyage! What better way to break in this particular stamp!

The card turned out super cute. If you look closely at the palm tree itself, you will notice some variation in the coloring. This is a technique called "thumping" and is SOOO fun. I first colored my image with marker directly on the rubber with the lighter colored ink in both the Creamy Carmel and Kiwi Kiss. Then I took my marker in the darker colors (Garden Green and Chocolate Chip) and thumped randomly over the image to give it the two-tone look. I just LOVE it!!! Then a little shading on the ground with some gray, and wa-la! Whatcha think? Dad was tickled when he got the card in the mail! Can't wait for February!
