Happy Birthday Padre!

Today is Padre's birthday! Happy Birthday to Padre! It is kinda a big one, but since there may be a possibility that I have a big one coming up in the next few years, my lips are sealed.

He loves the Broncos, and in fact named his new puppy Elway! Don't you love it?! So I knew I needed to use orange and blue for his birthday card! And Liquid Applique is MY FAVORITE!! Something about watching it puff up right in front of your eyes is awesome! You gotta try it!

The DSP is retired from the Fall/Winter catalog, the Halloween paper. It was the only DSP I had that had Tangerine Tango in it!

Sorry I'm gonna miss your birthday, Padre! We'll celebrate when we get back!

Happy Together

Okay, so this was the runner up card for the anniversary card I needed a few days ago! Again, the little love birds. I wanted to try for something super minimal, which is usually pretty hard for me. I had seen this card done before, and wanted to try it for myself. Not sure that I am completely comfortable with how minimal it is, but it is growing on me.

To color the birds, I highlighted thier wing with my marker, and then colored them in with chalk. This is the inside of the card. I felt like since there was SO little going on outside, that there had to be a little bit going on inside! What do you think of minimalism when it comes to card making?

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Love you Much, Family Phrases
Ink: Basic Gray, Cameo Coral, Ballet Blue
Paper: Whisper White, Cameo Coral, Ballet Blue

Happy Anniversary

My bestest friend Lynsay and her hubby Trevor celebrate their anniversary today. I am fairly certain it is their 8th wedding anniversary, as I met her just a few months after she got married. Congrats guys!

Now this isn't your typical annivesary card, as it doesn't say the magical words "Happy Annivesary" on it, but that's okay right? Because as much as you are celebrating the anniversary of anniversary of a wedding day, you are celebrating their love for each other.

Now this is another one where it has rub-ons on the transparency sheet. I love what a clean look it is! (You can see the reflection of the light on the transparency) And the 2 little love birds are awful cute too (Lynsay's maiden name was bird....perfect! :)) The grommets are super fun, and I love the look - REAL hard to get through the cardstock and the transparency!!

Paper: Whisper White
Accessories: Summer Love Rub-ons, Baja Breeze Ribbon, Large Grommets

Polka Dot Oasis

These polka dots are super fun, and with as elegant as the rest of the package of paper is, seems wild that this would be in with the Urban Oasis paper. Still think it is fun, and the perfect time to break out my Circle tags. Your 1 1/4" punch fits right inside! Prop it up on blocks, and you've got yourself a retro little card!

Here is a close up of the sentiment. Sweet Celebrations has great sentiments that fit inside all your circle punches!

Stamp Set: Sweet Celebrations
Ink: Baja Breeze
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Urban Oasis DSP
Accessories: Dimensionals, White Circle Tag

Hey gals! A quick post before we hit the road for vacation. I have pre-loaded blog posts to post while I am gone though and will see you when we return (hopefully we aren't crispy crittters from the sun!)

Stampin' Up! has released its list of "Last Chance" today. They used to call it their retirement list. The new catalog comes out July 1, and they need to make room for all the new fabulous things in the new catalog, so we must say good-bye to some of our old favorites.

Good Morning Sunshine

Okay, this paper is LOUD! I love the colors and how bright it is! It is very retro, which I am usually not, and it surprises me how much I like to use it! Good to get out of your box sometimes, ya know! :) Reminds me of the 70's....I LOVE the cordouroy buttons - one of my favorites - just attach with a glue dot!!

I have been using my Family Phrases set a lot lately - I think it has GREAT sentiments and they are in a very 'casual' font - perfect for a fun card like this!
