Tie for dad

I saw these cards online somewhere (can't remember where now), and thought they were just adorable. If you need a super quick card to give the father or grandfather in your life, this would be perfect. Father's Day is just around the corner!

As I sat there to tie the ribbon, I was dumfounded on how to make it actually look like a tie. So what did I do? Unrolled more of the ribbon, and put it around my neck to simulate actually tieing a tie! Ha! Under, over, around and through..... :)

The sentiment is from the new catalog, and what a great stamp set that is! Loads of sentiments for EVERY occasion! I snatched that right up! Hope you enjoy!

New 09-10 Catalog

Oh my, oh my, oh my! I got my sneak-peak order with some new goodies from the new catalog AND I got my new catalog! Such a fresh and clean look, I am SOOO excited!

The first excitement is the new In Colors and they are great, great, great! Here is a peak:

The new colors are just fantastic! And guess what?!? They come in markers this year! Hallelujah!!

Make sure you check out the retired lists at my post here and place any orders before the end of the month. Over the next few weeks we will be saying good-bye to some of our favorite stamps, accessories and in-colors. Let me know if you want to place an order.

I am toying around with an idea and wanted to see what you thought....A combination 'retirement party' for the old stamp sets and a 'coming out' party for the new catalog and products. I will have some old stamp sets for sale, you will get to check out the new products, you club girls will get your NEW CATALOG! Maybe a special doorprize, and of course a make and take. What are your thoughts?

I hope you love the new products as much as I do! This is a great time to join stamp club so you can get your hands on a new catalog!!

Elegant Note cards

Okay, so when I started these cards, it was totally by fluke. These rub-ons are in the Summer Love Rub-ons in the Occasions mini. And rub-ons on the transparency paper is such a fun look! So simple, so monochromatic and I want to make many more! There are 4 different sayings, and I did it in two different colors. I wish I had more of these rub-ons!

June Club

It is that time again! Time for monthly stamp club! And if everything goes well, this will be the last club in our old house! Although we have been saying that for awhile now....anyway!

This first card is an adorable 3x3 thank you card. So nice to have a stack of these on hand when you need to send some thanks! Or....how about making a little box of them and giving them as a thank you gift?!? Do you have the Eight Great Greetings set yet? It is SOO versatile!

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Eight Great Greetings
Ink: Old Olive
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Old Olive
Accessories: Dimensionals, Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Clips Assortment

This next card just tickles me! Who would have thought that my favorite Big Shot die turns into a purse when folded?! OMG! I just love it! What a great card to make for a girlfriend, a sister, or anyone who likes handbags. And who doesn't love handbags?

This purse is made from the fantastic textured Parisian Breeze DSP. It is double sided designer paper, but it is also thick like cardstock! Such nice quality! The closure for the purse is a Build a Brad which is so cool cuz you can make your brad fit your project! Add any sentiment you want to the inside!

Paper: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Parisian Breeze DSP
Accessories: Build a Brad, Dimensionals, Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Big Shot, Top Note Die

Okay, I saved the best for last (I think). I bought this die a few months ago, and just broke her out of the packaging right before we left town. I thought this would be a SUPER cute card to make for club. Wedding season is around the corner, any of you have weddings you need to attend? Wouldn't you love to have a few of these on hand?

This is the outside of the card. There is a piece of Pink Pirouette with the organza ribbon that runs around the entire card as the belly band to keep the card closed. The wedding cake is adhered to the belly band. The wedding cake is embossed with white embossing powder. Why do you need to hold the card together, you ask?

Here is a picture of the card 'mid-open'

And here is a picture of the card fully opened. Its hard to tell from the picture, but can you see the little bride and groom at the top of the cake? SOO awesome! This is such a fun die to use! The Congratulations sentiment is embossed in silver!

Now this card can be a little time intensive, but I think it is totally worth it. What do you think?

Embossed and Sanded Flower

Sanded, you say? I was skeptical at first too. But until you try it, you don't know how its going to turn out. When you use the Embossing folders on the designer paper, you can't really see that you have even embossed it. So.....take your nail file and just file er down. Trust me, it will only file the raised part of your paper, and then your flower goes POP!

On this one, I attached my grommet through both layers. Just poke it through, and then fold down the spikes with your bone folder. Then, tie your ribbon, and attach with a glue dot.

Paper:
Going Gray, Urban Oasis DSP
Accessories: Jumbo Grommet, Regal Rose Ribbon, Big Shot, Manhattan Flower Embossing folder, nail file :)
