Stamp-a-Stack

What is stamp-a-stack, you ask? Well, it is a great time to get a head start (or even finish) your Christmas cards! I design 4 cards, and you make 4 of each one. You leave with 16 cards, and the fee is only $20. I provide all the supplies, except adhesive. You bring your own adhesive (if you need some, we can work something out).

Super cute wreath card I copied from the Holiday Mini. LOVE how you can show off all your DSP! And the satin ribbon is just yummy!

Next one is a very "clean" card with the majority of it being white. Not something I do very often, but I think it makes the gold tree pop. (sorry if this photo is bad - I took them late last night with bad lighting).

How super fun is this? A stack of gifts using the Designer paper? LOVE! The gold cord ties the packages together nicely, but you could use any ribbon you have on hand!

I just LOVE these mittens! Maybe cuz it is 10 below outside and my real mittens feel so good? I know you girls aren't going to be happy about cutting out the mittens, but there is just 1 per card, and it reall makes it pop, don't you think?

November Stamp Club

Well hello chicas! Sneak peak at tonight's stamp club! Time to get ready for the holidays!! This first project would make a great little treat to put at each person's place setting for the holidays! Even if you aren't hosting the holidays, what a great treat to bring for the hostess! The bags I purchased at Hobby Lobby - they are 3 1/2 x 2 x 6 3/4. Fill it with a little candy, maybe those little pumpkins made out of pure sugar...?

This next card makes me smile - who doesn't love Santa this time of year? And how fun to have a card that is Santa's suit? The Tinsel trim is about the best ribbon ever - sparkly, irredescent! Yummy! There is no sentiment inside this card - but you could easily put your favorite holiday greeting!

December Club

A Merry Little Christmas

Here is another one of my Christmas cards that I am sending out this season. Very traditional colors for this one. I just love the embossing folder! It looks like little poinsettia leaves, and is so super elegant in white! The ribbon is double sided which makes it so versatile! The other side is polka dots!

The sentiment is embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing powder. Can't have a Christmas card without a little sparkle!

Christmas stamp a stack class

This class is a perfect opportunity for those of you who want to send out homemade Christmas cards, but don't have the time, don't have the resources, or simply want someone else to design them. Well, this is the ticket.

Here is the skinny for the class: Will be held at my place on December 2, at 6:30 p.m. All you need to bring is your adhesive. (don't have any? I can help with that!). I will have supplies for you to make 4 each of the following designs. What is the cost? Only $16. Pretty cheap, huh? That is a buck a card!

Let it Snow

Here is a little Christmas card that I did. I just love this stamp set, and is so fun to color! I put a little Liquid Applique on the snowman and puffed it up with my embossing gun. Boy is that fun! I also ran the white layer through my Big Shot. You can't see real well in the photo, but it has little dots (like snowflakes).

Soup Can Gift

Do you have a member of your family that just can't keep their hands off the presents? Who just can't resist peeking and pulling at the paper? Well, that is my sister, believe it or not! We all love to guess our presents, and over the years she has gotten a bad rap for peeking and pulling before the big open.

So . . . . I wrapped her present in a soup can! Yep, a soup can. I have one of those 'safe' can openers that cut along the edge of the can and create a clean edge. So after I washed out the soup can, I inserted her present and then sealed the top with Crystal Effects (you could also use Tombo Adhesive, or another strong adhesive), and then decorated the can!


Here is a shot of the top of the can. I used my Circle Scissor Plus to cut the circle to fit inside the lid of the can. No peeking at this gift! :)

November Club

It's club time again! We have a great Thanksgiving card, and 2 cards that go with home-made gifts. Nothing better than a home-made gift these days!

Okay, so this first card really makes me smile. I just LOVE the 3-d pumpkin. I am not sure that it will mail well, but pop an extra stamp on it, and I bet it would! The bottom edges of each layer is torn (great therapy to tear paper) and sponged.


Here is a close up of the 3-d pumpkin. It is made up of 8 scallop oval punches that are sponged on the edges. And a litle piece of scrap Old Olive curled up for the stem. :)

Crystal Lite anyone?

This would be a 're-claimed' Crystal Lite container that I have altered into gift packaging! Take advantage of items in your house that you would normally throw away and turn them into hand-crafted items!

This was easy to do - just wrap some DSP around your container, and then do some festive ribbon.

The best part, I think, of the whole package is the bow on top!! I am in love with it! You can find the tutorial here. Its WAY easy to make! This packaging AND bow used 1 sheet of designer paper. Looks quite fetching, don't you think? It already has a gift in it. Can you believe I already have a Christmas present ready and wrapped? me neither . . .

Merry Snowmen

Now, if these are the cutest little row of snowmen, I don't know what are! :) I love coloring their hats and scarves, and using the chunky glitter for the snow is perfect!

Felt Flurry Christmas

This will be the first of many Christmas card posts I have coming. I decided that if I started earlier this year, I would have a better chance of getting them done on time! (and not stress about them).

This card uses quite a few retired items . . . I hung onto the fabulous felt flurries from the Holiday Mini last year. They look great on a Christmas card, and the card is perfectly mailable with a few flurries on it! I used Tombow adhesive to adhere them to the card.

Candy Stocking Stuffer

Halloween is over, which means it is time to start thinking about Christmas! I don't know about your family, but my family gets really excited about stocking stuffers. Overboard, is actually a better word! This year there are going to be lots of handmade stuffers! These may find their way into a few stockings . . .




The ribbon is tied around the candy bar and works as a slide to get the candy out of the belly band wrapper. These candies were on sale 2/$1 last week at Walgreens. I sure do LOVE a sale!

I forgot to share this card last week. I participated at a vendor party at a friend's house, and this was the make and take. It makes a great easy Christmas card. It is a 4x4 card, and by adding the ribbon and chunky glitter, makes it a really striking card!

October Club

Can you believe it is time for Stamp club already? Me neither! This month has gone by fast, and I have done very little stamping! Egads! Now that the weather is changing and getting cooler makes for perfect days holed up in the stamp room! Stay tuned!

This first project caught my eye and knew that it would be a perfect stamp club project! I also think it will be super cute on my Thanksgiving table setting. Give each person a little bit of candy to snack on while they wait for the turkey to hit the table! It's early, I know!!! But gotta plan ahead!

This box is super easy to assemble. Use your Wide Oval Punch and punch out 5 for each side to create your pumpkin. Sponging a little on the edges makes it 3-d.

This next project incorporates some requests from my stampig girls: sewing on a card and the stamping wheel! This is such a great Thanksgiving themed wheel, but you could easily use for any thank you card. The great thing about the stamping wheels is that you can get the ink cartridges that fit right inside! Then no worries about using your stamp pad and running out of ink halfway through the image! I used versamark on this one and then embossed with gold embossing powder. A little sewing along the edges adds a little kick!

The last card is a Christmas themed card (yes, already!) and is my favorite!!!! This uses the great new holiday paper, and is a perfect solution for a gift card! I used the double pocket technique, and must admit that it kicked my butt at first! I'll show you how to succeed the first time!

Once you create the pocked and assemble the layers with the designer paper, you have 2 slots to put 'goodies'. In this one I put a little tag note in the back one that you can pull out by the ribbon, and a gift card goes in the front one. It is also a full sized card, so you can open it up and still write a message! I'm in love!

Christmas pouch

Yep, you read that right. Christmas. In my experience from last year, if you are going to make your Christmas cards and gifts, you must start early! Otherwise, it turns into such a chore that you can't get anything done. So! Here goes the first Christmas card.

This makes a great little pouch for a gift card or photo to go inside. A tutorial for this card can be found here. She does such a great tutorial and this little card turned out so cute! Great way to show off your DSP. Speaking of which - this is some new stuff from the catalog - Merry Moments. LOVE it!

Christmas (a little late)

Okay, I know, I know, Christmas is over, but I never got my Christmas cards posted, so I wanted to do that real fast before we moved onto Valentine's! I decided to do 4 different styles of cards this year, for a couple of reasons. One, I didn't want to run out of supplies for any one project; Two, I couldn't decide on a single stamp set or design to go with, and Three, I love a little variety. So, real quick....

This is my old school card using the fabulous set in the Holiday Mini, Winter Post. I found myself using this set a lot, and just loved the classic-ness of it!

Pretty straightforward card, with a few layers. Sponged (of course) around the edge of the Baja Breeze layer and around the layer with the skaters on it. The torn Chocolate Chip gives the bottom of the card a little interest underneath the Ski Slope Designer Paper (that I just LOVE). Add some Chocolate Chip Grossgrain Ribbon and pop the sentiment up on dimensionals, and done!

The next three cards I used the Big on Christmas set. When I saw it in the last catalog, I just knew I would have to use it for my Christmas cards!

The first card's base is Kraft with a layer of Chocolate Chip that has been stamped with a snowflake (from Winter Post) with Versamark to give it a little dimension, and a little sponging. I scalloped the bottom of this layer with the Scallop Edge Punch. If you have not yet bought this punch - it is a must have! Makes scalloping SO SO much easier. I colored in the message with the Stamp and Write Markers, added a little Blue Bayou ribbon (retired) and using the Photo Corner Punch and dimensionals made the center section pop!

I just love the little snowman face, and with all the snow we have had around here, this card defintely says it right!

The next card uses the Big on Christmas set with one of the other sentiments. This one has a much brighter color scheme, and I think turned out real modern. The Designer Paper is Winter Brights and is now retired, but makes wonderful winter colors!

The edge of the sentiment is again sponged (I think I must have been on a kick!). Not sure if you can tell in the photo, but I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and then used Silver Emobossing Powder to edge the words, and then colored them in with my Stamp and Write Markers to match the Designer Paper which is layered behind. The sentiment is also propped up on dimensionals, which I like to call "up on blocks". Makes me laugh everytime! :) Can you believe I didn't use ribbon? Me neither.....

The last one turned out a little fuzzy in the picture (my bad), but overall turned out pretty cute.

This is the last sentiment in the Big on Christmas set, and also happens to be the name of one of my good friend's son! And, come to think of it, I don't even think I sent her this one.....You can check out here blog here if you want!

Back to the card. The sentiment is again colored with the Stamp and Write Markers and "up on blocks" in addition to sponging (did I sponge on EVERY card...geesh!) the bottom layer is on Real Rust and I used the big background stamp Sanded to give it a little texture. On the piece of Ruby Red on the side, the ornaments are Versamarked on there, with some (non-SU) eyelets. There is also some Very Vanilla Ribbon that runs behind the sentiment.

December Stamp Club

Can you believe 2 posts in one day?! I am on a roll, I tell you! I'm trying to be better about posting, I promise.

Tonight is December's Stamp Club, and we are making some fantastic Christmas items. If you are interested in joining my Stamp Club, contact me. We would love to have you. The first one is a gift card holder. What is an easier gift that giving someone a gift card? And this is super easy to whip up if you are in a crunch or great to have on hand for those last minute parties! The great thing about this card is that it is made from an envelope folded in half, and then embellished as you desire. The envelope forms a pocket for your card!

The "spinner" part in this one is the snowflake, which is covered in dazzling diamonds glitter, of course! By using dimensionals and a few pennies, this makes quite the "action" card!

The last card we will be making is a great pocket card. The pocket makes a great place to put a photo, a note, a newspaper clipping, money, whatever it suits your fancy! I just love the Winter Post set that is in the Holiday Mini this year. I can't get enough, which is probably why I use it for the majority of the holiday cards I have made. I also just love the Felt Flurries cuz they bring an extra level of fun to the card!

Here is a shot of the inside "postcard". You could easily adhere a photo to the back of this and treat it like a true postcard for your holiday card. How fun would that be? We decided that with as little as we did this year because of being busy with work and building the new house, we have very few pictures of the two of us. So, no picture this year!

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

First let me aplologize for not being a more faithful blogger. My intentions were good and I just found that I wasn't making the time for it. So here goes again. Probably not the best timing now that it is December - what the heck.

It is the first snowfall of the year today - if you don't count the crazy 21 inches we got in October. So here I sit - at 6:52 STILL sitting in traffic on my way home from work. I can only hope that the snowy commute will be better in the new house. So I am blogging on my blackberry - don't you just love technology?

Well tomorrow is my first stamp-a-stack and it is for Christmas. Of course - that is the most fun holiday to make and send cards for. And it my most favorite holiday. We are making 4 cards of each of 4 designs. 16 is a great start to anyone's list of Christmas card list right? It will be a small turnout for my first stamp-a-stack but that's okay.

The first card is using my favorite color - pink. I know that may come as a surprise to some. :). Just wait until you see my new crafting room in the new house. I LOVE to emboss (thanks Lyns)!! The base of the card is in Basic Gray which I think looks great with the pinks!

The third card uses the super duper cute reindeer from the Winter Post set that can be found in the holiday mini. I think this set is wonderful and classic, and I just can't get enough of the reindeer. The snowflake that is stamped in VersaMark is also from the same set, and I think is my favorite snowflake! The Designer paper is again from the Ski Slope pack, topped off with Real Red Ribbon. The sentiment on the bottom is from the Hostess set, Best Yet. A little paper piercing (how therapeutic!!) and sponging (one of my favorite techniques) and you have a great card!

And lastly, but certainly not least - this is my favorite one to make! Take an entire piece of the Whisper White cardstock and stamp your snowflakes on it - go crazy! Then cut the paper into the size you need for the front of your card - makes it seem more 'random' that way. Then a piece of vellum cut to the same size goes over the top of the stamped cardstock to mute the colors a bit. Secure with the brads and ribbon at top - easy peasy!!

I typed up everything for the first 2 cards, then came home, uploaded the pictures, and finished the post. It was 7:30 by the time I got to Wal-Mart, though.
