Build a daisy

Hey again! This is a stamping challenge that I found here. Finding a layout challenge is a great way to get you out of your box and thinking about your layouts in a different way. This is the layout:

Now, you don't have to follow the colors and you can do whatever you want with the center section. But when I saw that it was a big daisy, I knew I had to use my Build a flower die for my Big Shot! I also threw in a few of the new In-colors. Three of them, actually!! Who else loves that the ribbon is double-sided? Great versatility!!!

Recipe:
Ink: Soft Suede
Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Large vanilla brad, Soft Suede Ribbon, Dimensionals, (non-SU) brads

Thanks for stopping by!!! I challenge you all to try this layout! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I'm baaaaack!!!

Yep, that's right! I am back! My room is unpacked and organized enough to do cards, and so i sat down and did a few last night! I hope you like! I missed a few birthdays (the horror) in July, so I made a few of these to send and make up for all those who I missed.

I just LOVE how this card turned out! A little more time consuming that I would have liked, but well worth it in the end, don't you think? The cupcakes are from The More the Merrier and are just the cutest. I stamped them individually on the cardstock in Versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder. Then cut them out and put them up on blocks on the 1 1/4" block of paper! I also broke out my sewing machine to do a little stitching! Super fun!

Recipe:
Stamp Set: The more the merrier, Party Hearty
Paper: Dusty Durango, Whisper White, Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Riding Hood Red
Ink: Versa mark, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Dusty Durango Ribbon, White embossing powder, sewing machine
Technique: Sewing, embossing
Feels good to be back! Hope you enjoy!

July Club

I know, I know. This is old stuff. I wanted to get it up on the blog. New stuff over the weekend, I promise!!

First card is the oh so yummy birthday card with the Liquid Applique. Have you all gone out and bought some? It is SOOO fun! Can't wait to use it on snowmen! Also trying out some of the new In Colors - I think they will be fun!

Close up of those yummy cupcakes! :) You can see the Crystal Effects on the cherry!

Recipe:
Stamp Set: The More the Merrier (Hostess)
Ink: Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Real Red, Old Olive
Paper: Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Whisper White
Accessories: Crushed Curry Ribbon (double sided), liquid applique, crystal effects, Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercer, Dimensionals, Horizontal Slit Punch

The next card is a super fun 3-d fold card. Start with a square piece of paper, which ever size you choose (this is an 8x8), and score in half on both sides. Cut from the edge to the middle on one of those score lines, and then score a 45 degree angle on the adjoining square.

Another fun In Color - Bermuda Bay (makes me think of vacation) goes great with Apricot Appeal!!

I ended up sending this in Duane's overnight bag on one of his trips out of town. I always like to put a little card in there along with some candy! :)

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Admit It, Love you Much
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Bermuda Pay, Apricot Appeal, Apricot Appeal DSP, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Dimensionals, Chocolate Chip Ribbon

Okay, this last card is a little crazy! Known as the "Tri-shutter" card! Was super fun to do!
And here is the baby open!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all you fathers out there, and especially to mine! Not sure what we are doing to celebrate today, but whatever he wants to do!

This card is similar to the one I made here. This is the only real "father" stamp I have, so I need to stretch it around! I think this is a great stamp from the Occasions Mini. Remember: this catalog ends at the end of June, and we won't know if these stamp sets will make it into the next catalog or not.

I love how big this chocolate chip ribbon is, and the white and chocolate make a very masculine combination. Happy Dad's day to all!

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Eight Great Greetings
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Accessories: Dimensionals, Chocolate Chip Ribbon

Birthday Gift Bag

I think this would totally make a great birthday gift. Or any other kind of gift, for that matter! Who doesn't love to receive a hand-made gift? This gift bag I found at Michaels, but I'm sure you could find them anywhere. Cover it with designer paper, and then fill the inside with cards! I literally finished it in under a half an hour last night after I got back from cleaning the new house. Wouldn't be a bad idea to have a few of these on hand....

And here are the cards that go inside:

Lots of the stuff I used is retiring. The stamp set is currently the Curly Punch bundle, and although the punch is sticking around, the stamp set will no longer be available. Also the Cordorouy buttons, Good morning Sunshine Paper and Pacific Point paper.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Curly Label
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Basic Black
Paper: Pacific Point, Summer Sun, Chocolate chip, Whisper White, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Accessories: Curly Label Punch, Dimensionals, Kiwi Kiss Ribbon,
Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Cordorouy Buttons

Handy notes

So the current In-Colors are retiring, and I will miss them! They are so bright and vibrant. These little note cards showcase all of the in-colors in addition to a stamp set that is retiring that I love (Sweet Celebrations).

Here is a close up of one of the cards. Perfect for a little note for someone, a thank-you, or whatever you choose.

Here I put all 6 of the note cards into the Medium Cello Bag and tied with ribbon. Wouldn't this make a great little gift for someone? Or perhaps a door prize down the road.........Love it!

Thanks for stopping by! More retiring items to come....
